Description

Alias: Nature
Real Name: Megan Venus Devifonez
Nicknames: Nat, Meggie(Hallowmare only), Meg-Meg(Josiey only), Meg, Tree-Hugger

General Information:
Age: 19
Born: Avalon, California April 21st (Taurus).
Family: Dr. Anthony Devifonez(father, deceased), Iris Anna Devifonez(mother, deceased), baby brother(unknown whereabouts)
Affiliation: Hero (Teen Titans)
Height: 5’6’’
Weight: 120 lbs.
Ethnicity: Caucasian and Puerto Rican
Race: Human
Hair: Dark Auburn Hair
Skin: Tan, fair skin, in the summer gains an orangey tinge to her skin
Eyes: Pumpkin Orange, born light brown
Other Appearance: Athletic build, belly button piercing

Personality:
Flirtatious- She will and enjoys being the distraction to the boys, and if they don't catch on, she'll make it a point that they will.
Reliable- Despite her slightly reckless behavior, she will get the job done and knows when to get serious. A mission to save the world is asked, a rescued world is what is given.
Ambitious- Being born an outdoorsy type of girl, she always reached for new heights, figuratively and literally. Her and mother both enjoyed hiking, and rock-climbing, and Megan always pushed to make it to the very top.
Confident- Being so outgoing and flirtatious it isn't a surprise that she is confident, but both of her parents being more on the shy side always pushed Megan to be more social than them, not to be afraid to speak for herself and her mind, and be the very best she could be.
Humorously Immature- She's highly flirtatious, crude jokes, and unnecessary suggestions are truly just in her nature at times.
Knowledgeable- Her father had his P.H.D. In plant biology and genomics, so it was pretty hard for Megan not to know her stuff with such a figure in her life.
Aggressive- Whether it be a Taurus trait or her natural inclination she throws a mighty punch when the going gets rough, her emotions at times are very attached to her energy, even too much so.
Easy-Going- Her mother being a former hippy, and herself being very in tune with the Earthy spirituality, she is very “go with the flow”. You can blame it on the occasional bong hit or just her upbringing, either way it works.
Stubborn- At time she can be just as stiff as a tree and as unmovable as the ground she stands on; if you're going to suggest otherwise better have good support.
Fashionable- She won't make it a complete ordeal to constantly be trendy, but when she has the urge and time(like when she's going out), she will be striking. It's just what she must do.
Resourceful- Since her powers are truly based on her surroundings, she has learned how to do with and without certain elemental advantages. Such as fire for example, she cannot simply snap her fingers and spark flame, she carries a lighter in her left side pant pocket so she can always have that element present for her to manipulate.
Clever- This goes along with her craft in knowledge and resourcefulness, she is a pretty quick thinker, and loves to problem solve. Being a super hero has helped improve this character trait.

Reckless/Care-Free- She has a tendency of just being just too care-free and free-spirited, which makes her a handful at times. She enjoys just living and will just disappear for days “living” without notice just because she believes in isolation for the health of her mind, body, and soul.
Temperamental- She tends to have her emotions too close to everything else, this is usually due to her sensitivity to her surroundings and rude awakening she had from the murder of her parents.
Highly Compassionate- She finds worth in everyone she meets and believes everything happens for a reason and that everyone deserves a second chance. But she does have her limits if trust is repeatedly tried.

Selfless- Megan will not hesitate for a second to put herself out on the line of fire for anyone. She feels partly due to her past and current power confidence she is most compatible with dealing that sort of situation.

She is the treehugger diva, her Jungian type is ENFP.~

Fears/Insecurities:
-Seeing death or nearly fatal injuries. Seeing her dad pass in the hospital was hard enough, but when her mother was nearly surviving from her injuries to then pass from giving birth to her baby brother destroyed any emotional tolerance to that sort of pain.
-Betrayal The thought of entrusting someone to have them stab her in the back for a petty gain discomforts her to the point of never acknowledging the person existence again just because of how trustworthy and hopeful of others she is.
-Failure in protecting the city (The entire reason she took on the responsibility of crime fighting was to keep Jump City a safe place for her little brother to grow up in. Especially as acting as a main trainer for newcomer Titans, their crime fighting work reflects directly on Megan.)

-Humiliation (She is used to being in the spotlight and having attention, but having a large amount of negative public attention is a nightmare for her.)

-Losing Touch (Due to how her powers work, she is fairly concerned about one day being lost in her connection to the planet. Like one day just becoming an isolated malevolent force that has no sense of humanity.)
-Losing those she cares about (She has lost so many already, it would only make sense.)
-Indoors without windows(She loves the outdoors, and that's where she feels most at ease and of course empowered.)
-Someone Getting Hurt because of her (She feels at times she has nothing else to lose, so the question will constantly be “why not me”, so literally expect her to throw herself in the front lines.)

Some hobbies: Rock-climbing, gardening, sewing, kick boxing, yoga, tennis, and mud-fights.

Powers:
Elemental Manipulation: By direct contact to the four natural elements(Earth, Wind, Fire, Water) she can wield each to her will. This is limited to the extent of alteration of the elements, she cannot change the state of matter of any of the elements nor can she reproduce any amount of a present element more than twice the given amount. Eg. She can't stick her hand in a cup of water and make a wave. She can stick her hand in a cup of water and make two cups worth of a watery splash.

Water- Basic "water bending" skills, depending on the surroundings she can adjust water to a condensed state, example a puddle of water on a sidewalk in a place that was snowing, she could compact and make slushy goodness out of it.

Earth- Simple movement of sediments such as sand, dirt, and rocks, she can also accelerate plant growth dramatically. Her "plant bending" skills are the most effective and extensive considering they are actually alive, it is easiest for her to establish the physical/mental link.

Air/Wind- She generally manipulates the air and moving wind to lift herself into a flight. It is much easier and efficient for her to fly with at least a breeze occurring. Still air exhausts her faster as she has to generate the movement more to compensate for the lack of movement.

Fire- She can manipulate existing fire by touch, her heat tolerance is greatly enhanced due to the protozoa along with burning of her skin cells because she conducts heat so well. The longer she is exposed to direct flame does increase her chances of eventually getting burned.
Environmental Receptivity: She can physically detect movement, temperature changes, and slight disturbances/discrepancies within a natural 100foot radius. (Eg. Her standing, she can detect movement up to 100ft from her physical standing point.)

        Power Limitations:

-She cannot take a large abundance of a certain element (eg. water) and use all of it(eg. ocean) at once. Yes she can move and manipulate the some of water in the ocean, but can't take half of the ocean(not even a quarter of it) and soak the city, that would cause her and the protozoa to pass immediately die.

-All of her elemental manipulation relies on her own physical energy. Eg. She can levitate off the ground inside a room (where air is relatively still) but that would require a good amount of energy on her part and would be ill use of her limited energy.

-The protozoa is living within her, though it is a mutual symbiosis (Both the host and the guest((parasite)) benefit from the physical bond) it takes a good amount of energy from Megan.  Therefore if it's sick she is, and vice versa. They are knitted fairly close.

-She MUST be in direct physical contact with the elements AT ALL times with the element in manipulation. No exceptions. (Including while she is manipulating the element.)

More information on powers:
-She can reach flying speeds of hurricane winds if the weather conditions are eligible.

-Direction of wind for flight does effect how fast, and how long she can fly for. (eg. Going against the wind direction will obviously present drag.)

-Hypothetically speaking if Megan were to ever find and visit the protozoa's home planet, she would be no different in terms of abilities among the species because she contains the connection. Therefore if one of the species came here(the Earth conditions are far too extreme for their survival) they would appear to have the same abilities as Megan.

Abilities: Intermediate rock-climber, and kick-boxer. She can detect things within her field of sensitivity, so has like a “Naturey Sense”, and can speak Spanish.

Weapons/ Gadgets:
Lighter: She cannot generate an open flame on her own, and she loves to “play with fire”.

Handcuffs: Well it's obviously for the bad guys... And anytime when someone is just not listening to her.
Titans Communicator: She is a Titan, gonna need it!

Strengths:
-Upper Body Strength

-High Endurance(Physically, not for powers)

-Memory

-Temptress Manipulation(Tease)

-Hand to Hand Combat

-Long Range Attacks(Limited)

-Patience

-Communication Skills

Weaknesses:
-Being away from the outside

-She suffers a certain amount of  discomfort when and if a in process of manipulation is the bond is broken.

-Her melodramatic-ness

-Recklessness

-Stubborness

-Holds Grudges

-Boys who don't fall for her seductive tricks

-Depression(Due to Emotional Trauma)

-Physical link when manipulating plants, can experience pain from a hit to the plant.

-She has a MAX Cap when using her powers no matter how much of an element is available to her.

History:
Megan lived with her mother and father in Avalon, California and being an only child picked up many hobbies to entertain and better enrich herself. Her father was a botanist that study heavily in genomics. He worked on genetics of plants for a living to better the growth of them. While hiking with Megan he came across this extraterrestrial, intracellular protozoa/parasite within some plant, and soil samples he gathered during the hike. Once he began to study it, he found that it could actually help Earth plant growth. From his observations he saw the possibility for this unknown organism to create a way for healthier and almost self protective produce. With months of research, Tony himself discovered a way to extract and possibly duplicate the organism for commercial use on U.S. Produce.

Local pesticide companies discovered his findings and immediately got themselves concerned. The more vicious CEO's hired a merc for hire, Deathstroke. Deathstroke's mission was to kill Tony and make it look like an accident, steal valuable information and destroy all evidence of Tony's personal scientific research.

The plan doesn't go as smoothly as the companies would have hoped. Tony anticipated the rebuttal, after finding out his partners spread the word. The day Deathstroke was out to get him, Megan was supposed to be at school, but was running late that day. She was there for everything, and got herself caught right in the middle of it.

Right before the brawl, Tony gave Megan the glass capsule containing the largest extract of the alien protozoa to wear as a casual necklace. In a brutal tug and war Deathstroke manages the murder, not realizing Iris and Megan were just hiding in the other room. Iris screamed in agony from hearing the gun shot blowing their cover. Another gun shot was fired at them, Megan ends up going straight after Deathstroke. She catches up to him in the nearby hilly brush, only to be easily handled and was incapacitated; causing a rough tumbling down the rocky hill breaking her necklace straight into her chest right below her collarbone.

Megan's mom was pregnant at the time, and consequently suffers from a bullet wound, but manages to make it to the hospital. An emergency birth is required as they both hit critical, and she soon dies after the birth.

Once Megan awakens she finds herself in the very spot in where she fell but covered in luscious vines and leaves wrapping around her in a cocoon. The alien parasite embedded itself with her and reacted to her stress in the most protective way it could. Megan makes her way back to the house to find the police and explains herself, as they in return explain what occurred while she was unconscious.

After Iris died the city decided to put the baby boy in adoption/protective care/watch to keep him safe from any future adversary because of Tony's “controversial” work. Since Megan was already 18, she established her parents' estate, etc and gained her rights to herself.

Immediately after the legal ordeals of it all, she took to Jump City because of an officer letting her know that her brother's adopted family moved further west into California to keep him safe and start completely anew.

Thus she finds herself in Jump City to start her life a new, and does it first by going on her Slade man-hunt, developing street skills and working closely with criminals as she learned her new gifts. She does find Slade but lets him get away from her lack of control and knowledge of her gifts. That's when she turned for help to the Titans, she needed to start a true non-vengeful, new life. She heard all about the Titans helping others and figured she that's where she would best be.

Keeping Jump City safe to be some sort of eagle eye from above for her brother that was somewhere living in there.

I'm so freaking fascinated by her powers... 8) And, oooohhhh, that bit about "working closely with criminals" sounds new to mine ears... It sounds like that sort of life didn't sit well with her, hence turning to the Titans?

"Environmental Receptivity: She can physically detect movement, temperature changes, and slight disturbances/discrepancies within a natural 100foot radius." So, you said within a NATURAL 100ft radius? So if she's in the city, currounded by wries and concrete and steel bars, how is that receptivity affected (if at all)?

So, after she moves to Cali to be near her brother, do they communicate? Or is she now acting as his guardian angel from a distance... or just keeping tabs on him to make sure nobody discovers his relationship?

And now that Meg inherited the family estate, do her ties to her father (and her powers) have any impact on people looking for her father's research? She's a walking genetically-engineered supersoldier! Does that garner any attention? Or do people not realize Nat is Megan, so they don't connect Nature to Megan's father's work?
